Joining Rangers

Sport Target Shooting is a fun, challenging sport, and safety is of primary concern.

Joining the sport is currently a lengthy process, mostly due to licence processing times

There are some steps you will need to follow.

  1. Review the FAR Website FACT Sheets, especially this one regarding attendance requirements.

  2. Ensure you have a ServicesNSW account

  3. Have two character references handy

  4. Join a club like Rangers and undergo safe handling training and pay joining fees.

  5. Return your paperwork to ServicesNSW and wait on your photo ID paperwork

  6. Attend competition shoots to meet licence requirements

Safe Handling and Membership

Once you have reviewed the FAQs from FAR and have references, let us know, and we will arrange for you to attend one of our training days to undergo Firearms Safe Handling training. You will need to pre-pay via credit card. We will not accept cash on the day, as we have had a few people drop out, or attend with a plan to pay at a later stage.

This will give you some practical experience handling firearms, and the Club will assess your fitness for membership, and collect fees.
